Deleting Items in Ripple: Two-Step Confirmation Process

Deleting Items in Ripple: Two-Step Confirmation Process

To prevent accidental deletions and protect important data, Ripple requires a two-step confirmation process for deleting certain records. This safeguard applies to the following items:

  • Participants from a Study

  • Participants from the Registry

  • Consent forms from the Consent Log on a participant’s Profile Card

  • Surveys from the Survey Creator

  • Entire studies

Deleting Participants, Consent Log Items, or Surveys

When attempting to delete any of the following:

  • A participant from a Study or the Registry

  • A consent form from the Consent Log

  • A survey from the Survey Creator

Follow these steps:

    1. Click the delete button associated with the item.

    2. A prompt will appear requesting confirmation.

    3. Type DELETE in all capital letters to proceed.

    4. The item will then be permanently deleted from Ripple.

Deleting a Study

The process for deleting a study requires an additional step to ensure data integrity.

Step-by-step:

  1. Archive the study:

    • Navigate to the Study Settings.

    • Select the option to archive the study.

  2. Delete the archived study:

    • Locate the study in the Archived Studies section.

    • Click the delete icon and follow the prompt to confirm.

For questions or concerns regarding deletion permissions or data retention policies, please contact Ripple Support.

⚠️ Important Warning

Once a participant, consent form, survey, or study is deleted:

  • It cannot be recovered.

  • Ensure that the deletion is intentional and that the information is no longer needed.
